Practice Areas
Family Law
Family law encompasses divorce, custody, visitation, child support, paternity, marital award, distribution of marital property, and alimony. A family law case is emotional and requires an attorney who has the knowledge, experience, is familiar with the court system, and is compassionate about your case.
Divorce
A divorce is one of the most emotional experiences a person can go through. A divorce affects the family structure, children, finances, lifestyles, emotional state and much more. It is imperative that you have an experienced attorney who can assist you through all the facets associated with divorce.
Child Custody
Children are often the most affected by a divorce or a custody dispute. A child that is subject to a custody case will often feel torn between his/her parents, confused, unstable and concerned for the future. We aim for solutions that put your child’s needs first, without sacrificing any of your rights as a parent.
Child Support
When parents divorce or separate, their child(ren) should not suffer. It is important to ensure that the financial support that is being paid is in accordance with the state guidelines. As a former attorney for the Office of Child Support Enforcement, Ms. Weinstein has litigated both sides of child support cases.
Alimony
Alimony is a court ordered allowance that is given to a spouse before and/or after a divorce is awarded. Alimony is a separate financial award from child support, and unlike child support, there are no official guidelines for alimony in Maryland. Many factors have an impact on the amount of alimony.
Criminal
Having criminal charges brought against you is quite stressful and can often impact your divorce, custody and\or visitation case along with your employment. You’ll want to have diligent representation to ensure that every aspect of your criminal case is covered in order to protect your rights and interests.
Our Mission
One of the most emotional aspects of a family law case is when a child or children are involved. Our top priority is to encourage our clients to put the child or children first. Divorce can have a serious and potentially lifelong impact on them. We will pursue solutions that put your child’s needs first, without compromising your rights as a parent.
We work to obtain a settlement that accommodates both you and your children’s needs, but if a fair settlement cannot be reached, we will not hesitate to go to trial. At Weinstein Law, LLC we will empower you and assist you in putting your life back on track.
